Are you looking for a Songwriter?

As a songwriter I’ve 20 years experience, working with both bands and solo artists. This has included writing thoughtful and poetic lyrics, and composing impactful music, to really enhance the message of the song I’m writing.
A great song is a marriage – both the words and the music working in tandem to enhance each other. A sad lyric can be made to feel even more melancholic with a poignant melody. And a positive chorus can be even more emphatic with the right chord changes behind the words. This level of detail is second nature to a skilled songwriter, who will lift your song to higher levels.

Here's how it works

Step 1: Initial meeting (face-to-face or Zoom)

We start with a relaxed chat (in person or via Zoom) to understand your vision, influences, goals, and the message you want your song to deliver. This is where we define style, mood, and any reference tracks.

Step 1: Initial meeting (face-to-face or Zoom)
Step 2: Concept & Direction

Together we shape the core idea, including: theme, story, and emotional tone. Whether you have a rough idea, lyrics, melody, or just a feeling, we turn that into a clear creative direction.

Step 2: Concept & Direction
Step 3: Collaborative Writing Sessions

We co-write lyrics and music through structured sessions. This can be face-to-face, online or a hybrid workflow where we exchange voice notes, demos, and drafts between meetings.

Step 4: Melody, Lyrics & Arrangement Development

We refine every element so the words and music work together. We work on crafting strong hooks, meaningful lyrics, and chord progressions that enhance the emotion and impact of the song.

Step 4: Melody, Lyrics & Arrangement Development
Step 5: Demo Production

Your song is recorded as a high-quality demo, giving you a clear, professional representation suitable for pitching, performing, or further production.

Step 5: Demo Production
Step 6: Optional Full Production

If you want to take the track further, we can develop the demo into a fully arranged, release-ready recording.

What does a producer do?
A producer these days covers a wide range of skills and responsibilities, which can include artist development, co-writing and refining the song together, helping with decision making and song structure.
Then recording and mixing your arrangement, and overall project management, providing useful artistic direction and welcome second opinions. This artist-producer relationship allows you to develop and enjoy the journey as the song, EP or album can grow naturally and logically into the best version possible. This could start from a demo that you’ve recorded at home, a vocal snippet that you’ve captured on your phone or even just some drafted lyrics. But I guarantee you’ll love where it ends up!

A typical timeline might be:

  • Initial meeting (face-to-face or Zoom) to discuss and understand your project and vision.
  • Exchange of ideas / files / demos.
  • I/we produce a complete arrangement including all instrumentation, backing vocals, solos.
  • Recording of your vocals over the arrangement.
  • Professional mixing or forwarding of all tracks for your own mix or mastering engineer.
The cost depends on a wide range of variables. etc etc
